Women's Support Services Volunteer Training begins September 1, 2011

Women's Support Services (WSS) is looking for caring individuals who are interested in helping local victims of domestic violence and abuse.
WSS is currently seeking volunteers to assist in handling our 24/7 crisis hotline. People who are able to speak Spanish are needed as well. Whether you have a few hours a week or a few hours a month, there may be a great volunteer opportunity for you at WSS! We provide free training to all interested volunteers.
The free 25-hour training course is being offered at the WSS offices, on Route 41 in Sharon. On completion, a volunteer is certified as a Connecticut Domestic Violence Crisis Intervention Counselor. The fall training begins on September 1st. Registration is now open.

Training will be held at the WSS office.

Who We Are
Women's Support Services, Inc. (WSS) was founded in 1981 and is a Domestic Violence Agency that provides services to persons in the Northwest corner of Connecticut and nearby New York and Massachusetts who have experienced emotional, physical, psychological or sexual violence at the hands of someone they love. All WSS services are free of charge and totally confidential.
Our Mission
The mission of Women's Support Services is to create a community free of domestic violence and abuse through intervention, prevention and education. We offer free, confidential, client-centered services focused on safety, support advocacy and community outreach.
