Women of Influence to Speak at Summit 10/6

The Connecticut Women’s Alliance (CWA), an organization that seeks to support the advancement of women and girls through educational programming and events, is hosting the Connecticut Women’s Summit.

The Connecticut Women’s Summit will feature some of Connecticut’s most influential women to discuss topics related to constructive ways in which women can mentor each other, build supportive communities and cooperation models, and help all women advance in our society. It is a festival of ideas for rapid evolution.

The Summit is being moderated by Attorney Kay Wilson of Kay Wilson Coaching and Training, Inc. The event will be opened with Gina Barreca: author, comedienne, columnist and UCONN professor; performing, followed by hosted discussions with Teresa Younger: Executive Director of the Connecticut General Assembly’s Permanent Commission on the Status of Women, Dr. Dorothy Martin-Neville, founder of Energy Medicine, psychologist and author, and Kathy McShane (photo, left): Managing Director of Ladies Who Launch the largest worldwide online and in-person community of female entrepreneurs, as well as a few surprise guests.  Special guest is Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman.

The Connecticut women’s Summit will take place on October 6, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the East Hartford Community Cultural Center on 50 Chapman Place, East Hartford, CT. To register, visit www.ctwomensalliance.com. Tickets are $35 and include hors d’oeuvres, wine and refreshments, free parking, book sales and signings, and other informative materials. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

The Connecticut Women’s Alliance, Inc. is comprised of a group of dedicated women who plan ongoing events  with focus points to provide Awareness, Information and Mentoring towards civics education, information resources, global awareness, and scholarships for women and young girls. Proceeds of their events are donated to charities that help women. They are also the producers of the Connecticut Women’s Conference. Board members include: Wendy Leahy, President, Tonya Healis, Vice President, Joanne Gustafson, Secretary, Annabel Pedemonti, Treasurer, and board members: Sharon Fales Grodzicki, Dr. Dorothy Martin-Neville, Carolyn Griswold, Kay Wilson, Cile Decker and Jennifer Socha.###
