Cedar Hill Notables Tour This Thursday!
Join Cedar Hill volunteer Doris Griffith this Thursday as she introduces visitors to some of Cedar Hill's most notable residents including Dr. Horace Welles, financier J.P. Morgan, manufacturer Samuel Colt and actress Katharine Hepburn. This tour will begin at the flagpole at the end of the entryway drive beginning at 10:00am. General admission is $5.00. Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation members and Let's Go Arts members are free.
Cedar Hill Sunset Notables Tour
Can't join us this Thursday, mark your calendars to join us Thursday, August 18 for Cedar Hill's Sunset Notables Tour led by former Foundation Director Wendi Fralick. Wendi will introduce visitors to Cedar Hill's most notable residents as the sun sets over Cedar Mountain. This tour will begin at 6:30pm at the flagpole at the end of the entryway drive. General admission is $5.00. Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation members and Let's Go Arts members are free.
Cedar Hill's Prisoner of War Talk and Tour
Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation will continue its Civil War Education Series in August with Prisoners of War Talk and Tour on Saturday, August 27 at 10:00am. Historian Dave Smith of the Hartford and New London Civil War Round Tables will conduct a lecture on Civil War prisons and escapes, cavalry life and capture, and political implications. Following his talk, visitors will tour the final resting places of Prisoners of the Civil War interred at Cedar Hill and hear their stories of bravery and resiliency. General admission is $5.00. Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation members and Let's Go Arts members are free.
