Music Among the Memorials This Friday!
Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation's Music Among the Memorials is this Friday, July 29. Event has been moved to Saturday 7/30 due to rain. Local Hartford jazz bands The Alvin Carter Project and Congo Square Ramblers will take center stage at 6:00pm. Bring your family and friends, chairs and blankets, and picnic dinners for this unique, family-friendly event at Hartford's historic Cedar Hill Cemetery. Purchase your tickets on or before Thursday, July 28 to get them for $8.00 each. After July 28, tickets will be $15.00 each. For tickets, call 860-956-3311. Hartford Landmarks and Legacies Tour with Mayor Pedro Segarra
Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra will be co-leading Hartford Landmarks and Legacies Tour with Cedar Hill's Community Outreach Coordinator Mellissa Craig on Saturday, July 30 at 10:00am. Mayor Segarra and Mellissa will introduce visitors to Cedar Hill residents whose names are recognized through public parks, streets and schools, such as the Keneys, Colts and Goodwins. Who were these families and what connections do they have to Hartford today? This tour will commence at the flagpole at the end of the entryway drive. General admission is admission is $5.00 per person. Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation members and Let's Go Arts members are free. To view a Hartford Courant article about this tour, click here.
CHCF is Taking Reservations
Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation is taking reservations for its 4th Annual Family-Friendly Mystery Scavenger Hunt and Haunted History Lantern Tour. This year's Scavenger Hunt will take place Saturday, September 10 at 10:00am. Teams of up to four people each will compete to find and follow clues throughout the memorial grounds to solve a mystery. It's a race to the finish as prizes will be awarded to teams who solve the mystery the fastest. Admission is $5.00 per person. Cedar Hill's Haunted History Lantern Tour will take place Friday, October 28 beginning at 6:00pm. This is the only night during the year that Cedar Hill is open to the public after dark. Visitors will hear the darker-yet-true tales of some of Cedar Hill's residents. Admission is $12.00 per person with reservations.
