Try looking in the mirror! It all starts with loving yourself. I know I know those of you who have been single for a while aren't all that interested in this self-help chatter. You just want to find the love of your life and then you are sure you will love yourself and all that great stuff. But I know firsthand that it starts with you! Sure some of you will get lucky and just find your knight in shining armor with very little effort. But for those of you who are having trouble just think about what I am saying!

If you don't like yourself then why on earth would you expect someone else to fall in love with you? If you are constantly having negative thoughts then why would you expect positive things to come your way? If you are always convincing yourself that there are no great guys left then why would you expect one to miraculously appear?

See I can talk about this because there was a time when I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror! I was convincing myself all the time that no one would ever love me and I would be alone forever. I was so convincing that I actually started to believe my own thoughts and that is exactly what I created.

I had an epiphany one day and my life changed forever. I literally caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror at a shopping mall and couldn't believe how miserable the face looking back at me was. That was the day I changed my life forever. I realized there was no one holding a gun to my head forcing me to think miserable thoughts. I realized I had the power to change the things I didn't like about myself. I revisited old hobbies, improved my physical appearance and began to force those negative thoughts out of my head forever.

I was ready to find true love because I actually loved myself. The very next day I joined match.com and the rest is history! I am happily married to date number 13 and know in my heart of hearts that it never would have worked out if I didn't see my face in the mirror that day!
